Extending summer

Summer – although not quite effortlessly –
is relatively easy to be prolonged

Effective are two ways both negative

The first small effort one should take is to
neglect in winter plants needing protection

The second lazy path: do cause delay
in planting seeds to let them live some later

The frozen twigs of rose or hibiscus went dead
and this year’s offspring comes from roots
to only start its blooming mid-September

Put into ground end May the Ipomoea
has for three months been building lots of buds
and opened now their long summer revival.

Such easy business has of course its price
